Director of Resurrection Children's Programs
As Director of Children's Programs at RLC, I have guided our NAEYC accredited, early childhood program since 1999 and our school-age program since 2010. Prior to my promotion to Director, I served for many years as a teacher in both programs starting in 1989.
My background is in social work and early childhood education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Detroit-Mercy, and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute (Loyola University). I have worked with families and children in many urban areas, including Detroit and Chicago. In Detroit, I worked as a family counselor with families that were at high risk for abuse and neglect of children. I also worked as a social worker and outreach worker for Lake View Presbyterian Church here in Wrigleyville.
At Resurrection, I work with a dedicated and supportive staff to carry out the mission of the school and church, which is to provide children and families with a foundation for meaningful, healthy, and productive lives.
I live in the Edgewater neighborhood and have two kitties, Moe and Tessa. I am also a big Cubs fan (what can I say, I love the joy and the misery), a movie buff, and I love to travel.
