I grew up in Southern California, spending weekdays at a Lutheran school as an eager (read "nerdy") student and weekends in my grandmother’s backyard, where, at age 4, I regularly preached to my stuffed animals, tipping Mom off to what I would be doing with my life. I also played a lot of baseball, which I accepted into my heart as my personal Sport and Pastime on May 29, 1977. My journey has led me across my beautiful country, from college in Southern California to seminary in South Carolina, clinical pastoral education in Iowa, internship in New York City, and first call as associate pastor at Faith Lutheran Church, Chico, California. I accepted the call to Resurrection in fall, 2001, and have since fallen in like with Chicago and in love with this amazing faith community. I was honored to be named Lakeview Clergy Leader of the Year in 2005 (the first year the award was given) for my part in working to expand access to quality health care and relieve financial burdens for uninsured patients in our neighborhood. I can often be found at Wrigley Field, and tend to be much nicer in my office than on the softball diamond.
